How To Clean Solar Lights
1. Why won't my sidewalk solar lights work?
I am curious how old the lights are, or if they used to work or not in their current location. This information would have been helpful. Solar lights operate by recharging Ni Cad batteries that are inside the unit. The Batteries are usually size AA. The batteries do not last forever and need to be replaced every year or so. I would replace the batteries to see if this corrects the problem. Good Luck!

Whatever daylight hours it gets before it gets dark the more sun it gets during the day the longer it will run at night

If you are referring to the landscaping lights they are called solar lights. They draw energy from the sun during the day and light up at night. You can get electric ones and put them on a timer but who wants to run the wiring?? The solar ones are economical and can be placed anywhere. They are available at most any garden center and big box retailers like Walmart, KMart, etc.

You can get diff types of solar lights, I have some needs need to be in the ON position to actually light up when it's dark and they have been charged...They need to be put together and then place in direct sunlight for at least 4 hours..and then they will light when it is dark out. They are amazing and look great in garden, patios, deck and walk ways...I got a bunch of them at wal-mart for like 14.98! :) THere are tons also at QVC and Target, Home Depot and Lowe's...check walmart out first, usually cheaper! :) p.s. They do come with directions! GOOD LUCK

8. How do I store my solar lights?
Solar lights can be out year-round, as long as there is no chance that shovels, rakes or plows will destroy them. Just make sure you clear off the snow in winter and leaves in early spring and fall. Below are some articles and tips that discuss this. If you do store them, just pull them out of the ground, clean off any dirt from the solar panel or glass/plastic with light mixture of water and ammonia and pack them away for the winter. i have no problems with solar lights, they get rained on all the time still work. it's possible but i doubt it, keep it on porch if afraid it might ruin it?
