Ok, Let Me Make It Clearer, What Light Can You Use to Charge Solar Lights? Besides the Sun.?
Ok, Let Me Make It Clearer, What Light Can You Use to Charge Solar Lights? Besides the Sun.?
The key thing is blast as many watts at the solar cells as you can. The colour you want varies with the type of solar cell, with maximum sensitivity ranging from infrared to ultraviolet. Many solar cells are most sensitive to blue light. Would it not be easier to hotwire the lights for an external charger? I know it's not what you asked, but it's what I would do.1. Any solar lights give off yellow light?Hi. Yes. Many have a yellow LED. We have a dozen in our yard purchased from Walmart2. Do solar lights for the outside home really work and do they last?Solar lights work fine. Mine, from Walmart, are 3 years old and still going. BUT solar is not for you. They do not give off anywhere near enough lighting for your purpose. They are decoration only. You need wired lighting.3. How long do solar lights stay on?It depends on the type of lights you have. Accent lights will stay on all night with a few hours of sun, and often into the next cloudy/rainy night if the battery has stored sun. Lamps and Lamp posts are the same thing. You want to make sure you get good ones though, and look for ones with Lithium-Ion batteries. There are also decorative lights that stay on, such as lanterns or floating lights for pools. And floodlights/security spot lights that can stay on up to 2 minutes every time the go on for up to 100 times a night, or for up to 8-10 hours continuously.4. Solar pergolas, gazebos & patio covers: A quick guideWhen you think of solar power for the home, solar panels on the roof is what immediately comes to mind. But there are many other places you can put your panels to produce solar energy for your home. Some of the more popular alternatives available in 2021 are ground-mounted solar panels and solar carports. Another approach is to go for solar structures on the patio or in the garden, which are often referred to as 'solar pergolas' or 'solar gazebos.' Read on to learn exactly what solar pergolas and solar gazebos are and whether they make sense for you. What are solar pergolas, solar gazebos, and solar patio covers? They all refer to solar-energy producing structures built on your outdoor patio or backyard. They can be built upon existing structures on your property, or be custom-built with solar energy production in mind. You could use a small structure if you are just looking for enough energy to power outdoor lighting. But with a bigger setup, you could place enough solar panels for a 5 kW solar system or even a 10 kW solar system. A system of that size is usually enough to power your house as well as sell excess electricity back to the grid. Are solar lights and solar umbrellas different from solar pergolas, solar gazebos and solar patio covers? Yes, they are. You have probably seen solar lights and solar umbrellas, which are popular in people's backyards these days. Solar lights are smaller devices that use solar cells, which are either built-in or attached as a small accompanying unit. The cells charge an internal battery during the day and then power lights at night. There are many different types: solar path lights, solar spotlights, solar ambient lights, etc. Solar umbrellas, meanwhile, are patio umbrellas with inbuilt solar cells that power attached lights and sometimes even a USB charging station. Solar lights and solar umbrellas have limited power-producing capacity are not built-up structures like solar pergolas, gazebos and patio covers. Which is better? Rooftop solar vs. solar pergolas, gazebos and patio covers For most houses, the rooftop is the place with maximum surface area and highest exposure to the sun. It is usually also convenient to mount solar panels there, as minimal construction or modification is required. These factors are why roof-mounted solar panels have remained the most popular option for homeowners. However, in many instances, your roof might not the right place to put your panels. Here are some of them: Space constraints: Your roof does not have space for the number of solar panels your require. (Not what this figure is? Calculate the sq. ft. required for solar panels here). Shade: Obstructions like surrounding buildings or trees might block direct sunlight from hitting your roof. Unfavorable angle or positioning: You will not produce maximum power unless your roof faces south. The roof angle, or pitch, also needs to be at the right level (30 to 45 degrees) to work best. Aesthetics: Maybe you just do not like the way they would look on top of your house... Ground-mounted solar panels are one alternative to consider. But they have one big disadvantage: they require substantial amounts of real estate, space that you can not use for anything else. This is where the solar pergola, solar gazebo or solar patio cover-as well as the solar carport- enter the picture. They are all dual-use structures, so they are more space efficient than a ground-mounted setup. You might already have one of these structures out back, which you might easily be able to adapt or modify to hold solar panels. Otherwise, if you are building one of these structures from ground-up, you can go for a designed-for-purpose structure that looks looks great and is optimized for maximum solar energy production. Of course, opting for a whole new structure means adding construction costs to the cost of solar panels. Solar pergolas, gazebos, and patio covers are just one of the routes you can take to go solar. If you can not or do not want to put solar panels on your roof, you could use them in order to gain all the benefits from going solar. To see if they are right for you, find a local solar installer who can assess your property and provide recommendations.

But how does it work? How to choose and use it well? With iDLights.com, take advantage of its assets and offer yourself 100% ecological lighting. Running on solar energy, the batteries of the outdoor solar lights are recharged during the day to illuminate during the night. They work thanks to a system of LEDs and photovoltaic sensors, which store the energy under the effect of the sun and restore it when the night falls, turning on automatically thanks to a sensor of darkness. Practical to use and 100% ecological, the outdoor solar lights thus make it possible to light your garden without needing a connection to electric cables. There are 2 types of solar lighting: solar terminals, small size or street lamp, more or less 1 meter high, whose lighting power is stronger than solar terminals. Choose them according to the light intensity you need. How to choose the right outdoor solar lighting? There are different types of solar lighting: solar beacons, solar terminals, solar lamps, solar pavers, recessed solar spotlights. This type of lighting is aesthetic and ecological. How to find your way around and how to choose the right solar garden lighting? The luminous power of your solar lighting First of all, you must take into account the light intensity of the lamp. Know that it is better to rely on Lumens than Watts. Indeed, the lumens are a more reliable unit of measure, because the Watts is not revealing of the real luminous power, it is about the consumption, and the lumens vary according to the quality of the leads. It is important that the lamps in your solar lighting (lamps and photovoltaic panels) are ideally located. Avoid areas of shadows, even partial, at any time of day. It is the direct solar radiation that offers the possibility of recharging your lamps in an optimal way. Some lamps have an integrated solar panel. They must also be placed in sunny and open areas (no shade areas, no foliage, roof projections, etc.). Also, do not mount your solar lamps on a north side of the building. To equip your garden with quality equipment, remember to check the following points when you make your purchase: your outdoor solar light must be equipped with a long life battery, guaranteeing to run at least 8 hours after a day of charging. An important feature not to find yourself in complete darkness in the middle of the night. Also, choose a lamp of good power in order to benefit from a quality lighting (at least 12w). Opt for material with LEDs, resistant to water and thus to bad weather and provided with changeable batteries (if possible 2 or more interchangeable batteries). Depending on your wishes, choose lighting options that offer continuous or intermittent light intensity. The right options: lights with a presence detector (which lights up when you pass in front) and those with a UV filter to extend its life and avoid its degradation under the effects of sunlight. A solar lamp for the garden uses solar energy. It is, therefore, an ecological lighting mode that is easy to install and does not require any specific connection. However, to enjoy it as long as possible, it is essential to know how to choose it well. Before buying an outdoor solar lamp, check that its battery offers a good autonomy, i.e. an autonomy of 2 h minimum in winter and 10 h minimum in summer. Also, check that it has a power of at least 12 watts to ensure sufficient lighting. Choose a quality solar lamp with a good life, unlike a cheap lamp that will stop working after two or three years. Make sure that a solar garden lamp offers good weather resistance. For that, one of the best choices is the stainless steel solar lamp: this stainless steel will not rust and will be resistant in case of wind or hail. To avoid the solar lamp being constantly lit at night and to avoid generating light pollution, choose a model equipped with a presence detector. In this way, the lamp only lights up in the presence of a person. Solar lamp for the garden: combining design and robustness To ensure that a solar lamp fits perfectly into your garden, do not hesitate to choose a lamp with a design that matches your furniture, plants and garden style while being robust. Install your lamps according to your needs: to highlight the paths of your garden for example, or to illuminate you when you walk or drive by. The solar terminals are very simple to install: simply push them a few centimeters into the ground. Street lamps may require a little more installation time: they usually need to be saddled on the floor. If necessary, you can also apply them to the wall or on your terrace. The solar lamps adapt to all your desires. Just avoid places that are too shady, so that they can enjoy the sun, their essential source of energy. How to maintain your solar garden lighting? Garden lamps are simple to maintain: it is generally enough to clean the solar panel each season, in order to optimize their brightness and their lifespan. The batteries of solar garden lamps also need to be changed from time to time: usually every year on average. It is obvious that solar lighting works better in summer when the hours of sunshine are more numerous. But there are solutions so that your garden is also lit in winter. Some lamps are equipped with both a rechargeable lithium solar battery and an alkaline battery that takes over. These lamps are therefore hybrid. In winter, you can opt for solar lights with a motion detector. They are therefore only used occasionally, which preserves their battery capacity in the event of low sunlight. Whichever type of solar lamp you choose, solar lighting will enhance your garden at nightfall. Garden lamps may contain pollutants. Generally, it is necessary to return them to the manufacturer so that they can be recycled. They should not be thrown in your garbage can. Do not hesitate to ask your distributor for advice. Photovoltaic cells convert light into electricity and thus they generate electricity from sunlight coming into them. How Often Electicity Stops in USA, Statistics?
I live in south Texas and the grids here are so old they can not provide the needed electricity when need is high. The weather here is salty and very hot and it is hard on lines. They need to be replaced often but are not. If it rains. ...if there is wind. ..if it is cold. ..you can count on the electricity going out. It goes out so often that I have bought a gas heater, gas stove and oil lamps. I have solar lights outside that can be brought in for light too. This works well in case of hurricanes too because then the electricity can go out for weeks until there is time enough to repair all the damage. Because of hurricanes here, many people have generators. I unfortunately cannot afford one. When there is a bad hurricane, I will be vacationing far to the north until utilities are repaired and a/cs are running. I have no idea how often it happens but this year I can remember only two or three times...but the weather has been dry and no big storms. Other years it can happen much more than that and sometimes it happens every other day because they change who uses what grids so no one is out for a very long time. Then it can be every so many hours or every so many days. I spent one Christmas with no electricity for five days and it was freezing. I felt bad for my neighbors that had small kids but we had snow on the ground so they were happy. That happens about once in a hundred years. I've rambled but hope it helps1. Best Led solar flood lightsThis presentation will show you why led solar flood lights are the future of your flood lights. What are the main benefits of using solar powered flood lights. Solar flood light advantages over regular floodlights. You can find out what are the best solar flood lights and what types of solar lights are popular. Also here are listed all the best solar powered lights for each category of flood lights.2. 3 Best Solar Flood Lights You Need for 2021Solar flood lights are one of the most invaluable investments you can make for the safety of your home. These lights are convenient and practical additions that will make everything from using a home security cam to unlocking your door at night a little bit easier. They can also help to keep the critters away from your prized tomatoes. A flood light is designed to flood an area with light. It's very straightforward. Flood lights are most important for outdoor applications. Inside, you have your walls, mirrors, and surfaces of your furniture to help bounce light around to fill the space. One bulb can take you a long way in a small room. Outside, you do not have that luxury. It's a vast expanse, and without a well defined space to contain a light, it sort of leaks out everywhere. A normal light outside wo not go very far. Since a flood light is designed to beam a high concentration of light directly out into a wide area, they will do a better job at illuminating a vast expanse. Flood lights are used to illuminate outdoor concerts and sporting events at night. These flood lights are a lot more powerful than the kind you would need to illuminate your home, since your back porch is substantially smaller than a football stadium. Flood lights for home use are compact, easy to use and install, and relatively inexpensive. Boundery's LumiGuard Pro is an ultra-bright 270 degree motion sensing floodlight. It's the perfect one size fits all solution for some security and safe illumination. It easily installs on your front porch or by your back door, giving you enough light to safely enter and exit without tripping over the doormat or trying every key on the ring. The LumiGuard Pro XL was designed with home security in mind. Our biggest and brightest floodlight can be used to illuminate very large areas, making it helpful for homeowners with a lot of property. It's designed to detect motion from up to 25 feet away, neutralizing threats the moment they approach. The Original LumiGuard is a compact and powerful solar floodlight that installs in minutes. It's the perfect replacement for battery powered LED flood lights, providing substantially more life without the hassle and waste of constantly replacing batteries. Why Do I Need a Flood Light? There are a lot of excellent reasons to add a few flood lights to the front and back of your house. You can position them wherever you need them to make your life a little easier at night. After work, you stop off to have dinner with a friend and run some errands. You make a last minute trip to the grocery store so you can meal prep some healthy meals for the upcoming week. Before you know it, you are getting home at 8 PM. The porch light is not on. You now have the troublesome task of figuring out how to get your groceries to the door that you cannot see to unlock. It's a huge pain, and you are kicking yourself for forgetting to leave a light on. A motion activated flood light solves that problem. As you approach the flood light, it will turn on. You can hold your groceries in one hand and unlock the door with the other because it's easy to see what you are doing. Need to run back out to the car to grab that 12 pack of seltzer? The light will kick back on. If you are having people over for a night time gathering, you probably have a well lit gazebo or porch area. But what happens when someone needs to walk to their car or around the house? They are probably unfamiliar with where they are going, and you do not want them to trip and fall. Solar flood lights and Boundery's Solar LED Stair Lights can make it safe for people wandering around in the dark. People with bad intentions do not want to be spotted. If anyone were casing your house to vandalize or burglarize it, they certainly do not want to do so with a bright spotlight shining directly at them. Mischievous teenagers are programmed to run the moment a light kicks on. It will give them the sense that someone saw them, or that someone could easily see them if they noticed the light kicked on and looked out the window. Strategically placing motion sensor lights near security cameras will help them capture clearer footage. If your camera's night vision leaves much to be desired, keep it in its normal mode and back it up with some solar flood lights. If you live in a quiet area or have a small patch of woods behind your home, you probably love the view. What you do not love is the curious deer and raccoons that want to see what kinds of plants are growing on your property. Rabbits are just as interested in finding snacks at dusk as they are at dawn. If you are growing fragrant herbs, fruits, or vegetables in your backyard, put up a solar light. Any curious animals looking to steal a bite will be scared off when the light kicks on. Motion sensor lights work by detecting infrared waves. People, animals, and cars emit heat. This heat energy can be seen by a motion detector light, especially when it's moving. The sensor picks up on the heat signature that passes before it and, in response, turns on the light. Motion sensing lights can sometimes be triggered by things like foliage aggressively blowing in the wind. If this is a dealbreaker for you, just trim the bushes. You can also adjust the placement of your lights to avoid pointing them directly at greenery. Why Are Solar Lights Better Than Electric Lights? Solar lights are better than electric lights for countless reasons. The most obvious reason is that they do not ever cost you anything to run. They use the light from the sun to charge an internal battery. When the sun goes down, solar flood lights know that it's dark and will automatically begin to work. You never have to remember to plug them in, turn them on, or recharge them. Since they do not require an active source of electricity, you can place them anywhere. You do not need to run wires or extension cords or create hazards to power your solar lights. Anyone can install them with simple instructions and basic tools. How Many Solar Flood Lights Do I Need? The amount of solar flood lights you need depends on what you are trying to achieve. You may only want two: one for the front door, and one for the back door. If you tend to take the trash out at night, it may help to strategically place one by the cans. If you are using them for home security, you will want them near every entrance and exit of your home. You might want to place them near your security cameras or, as a precaution, near any areas of your home that get particularly dark at night. If you entertain on your property, you might want to place them in a way that they will illuminate the way to the nearest entrance of your home. It's polite to help people find the bathroom during a bonfire or late night whiskey tasting. Solar flood lights can be affixed to your exterior walls with screws. They have a place for those screws to go in the form of a built-in mount. It's usually as simple as using the right drill with the right bit to prepare the wall and affixing the light. It is not much different from hanging a mirror or a picture frame. Your solar flood light will come with detailed instructions. Every home can do with a few solar powered LED flood lights. They are a one-time investment for a lifetime of convenience, safety, and peace of mind. It's liberating not to worry about turning the lights off and on when you need them, and it's even better when the light wo not add a single penny to your electric bill. Solar powered LED lights are ready to go right out of the box, and even the laziest DIYer can have them up and ready in time to eat a sandwich and take a nap. It's such a simple fix for a common problem that now you know how easy it is, we are not sure how you will want to go without it!3.
